Vancouver Chamber Choir – Music Shore to Shore

Thank-you so much to the Vancouver Chamber Choir for including Sonnez Les Cloches on their cross Canada tour. I’m very grateful to be part of this program and delighted to share a place in the choir’s repertoire with my composition teacher Dr. Stephen Chatman. Also glad to see Matthew Emery on the program, a composer to watch as his music continues to gain wide recognition.

The final concert of VCC’s cross-Canada Music Shore to Shore tour is this Friday, Feb. 21st @ Ryerson United Church, Vancouver.

Sonnez les Chloches was commissioned by the Vancouver Chamber Choir and is dedicated to Michiko Asami, the Canada Friendship Association and the people of Shunan in grateful memory of the Choir’s collaboration during their tour of Japan in the autumn of 2009.

Congratulations on a great review!

Fabulous review on the recent conductors’ workshop, Feb. 1st, at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, Toronto. Noel Edison offering his mentorship to five emerging conductors: Renata Dworak, Jeffrey Moellman, Sarah Morrison, Raymund Ocampo, and Zachary Thompson. Glad to be a part of the event from a distance.

Reviewer Christina Strynatka had this to say about the event:

“The most appropriate word to describe the result was glorious.”

“…a magnificent event with enough spine-tingling moments to need both hands to count.”

Well done all! – congrats.
